My husband takes a pill form of melatonin nightly and was interested in trying this one. The difference can be huge for the elderly population who have difficulty swallowing pills. I’ve had atrocious every-single-night insomnia since October of last year for no known reason. I’ve run the gamut of herbal options, meditation, CBT, CBD oil with and without THC, “regular” melatonin (tablets/gummies of varying dosages), and prescription sleeping pills. Though I’ve seen some improvement with prescription pills (ie, sleeping 4 hours a night instead of less than 2), I have to take twice what’s prescribed to see that result. Not sustainable. When I got this stuff I laughed at the “start with 1/4 pipette” suggestion, given I generally have to double the maximum recommended dose of ANYthing I take in order to see any effect. I decided on 1 and a half pipette’s full – 1.5 ml (about 7.5 mg). I actually managed to sleep 7 hours. Somehow still woke up not feeling like I’d actually rested though. Looked at my sleep tracker – I had 4 solid hours of “deep” sleep without cycling through the other stages of sleep. So – 1.5 ml basically knocked me unconscious, as opposed to just sleeping. So don’t take more than the recommended dose. If it knocked me out – someone who is probably better suited to horse tranquilizers than Ambien or Zopiclone, it’ll likely do quite a number on the average Joe. – Amazon Customer
